‘Sleepy Hollow’ episode 4 preview: The search for Abbie’s sister and more (video)

Who knew that a show would be willing to hype up a “game-changing” episode just a few episodes in? This is what “Sleepy Hollow” is claiming when it comes to the new episode, “The Lesser Key of Solomon,” airing a week from today. This will not only continue the story that we saw tonight, but also introduce some key answers, including the identity of the villain (if you can call it that) that Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane are trying at present to extinguish.

As the synopsis teases below, this is also going to be an hour that travels back in time in order to flesh out even more of the story:

“Lt. Abbie Mills and Ichabod Crane search for Abbie’s estranged sister, Jenny (guest star Lyndie Greenwood), who has escaped from a Sleepy Hollow psychiatric hospital. In a game-changing episode, which includes flashbacks to the real Boston Tea Party, Abbie and Ichabod discover more about the evil they are facing… and finally learn its name in the haunting.”

The official promo for the episode below does an excellent job at one thing: Creating a sense of true terror. There is gunfire, actual fire, chilling voices, and a promise that the monsters that are haunting these characters are in fact everywhere. We imagine that this in some ways will be how the show continues to justify itself in the long-term if the ratings end up staying high: There are always more evil spirits for Ichabod and Abbie to hunt down. So long as the entertainment level stays high for the show, that is all that we really care about.
