‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 premiere video: Ian Somerhalder, Nina Dobrev, and a bathtub

Want to see one of the first scenes from the season 5 premiere of “The Vampire Diaries”? If so, we have it for you in the video below, and it revolves by and large around just one simple thing: seeing Damon in a towel next to Elena in a bathtub. If you are a Delena shipper, you should probably be sitting down to watch this, and you may need a cold shower when it’s over.

There really is not that much to the scene save for the racy content of it, given that the story of it is as follows: It is the last night of summer vacation for Elena before she is set to take off to Whitmore College, and of course Damon is trying to convince her to stay put using all of his persuasive techniques. But is this working on her? Hardly. She’s convinced that she needs to get an education, which she will definitely have plenty of opportunities to do over the course of the forever that she is supposed to live for.

When Elena does take off to school, she is going to have an opportunity to meet a whole chorus of new, interesting people. Will Damon be okay with that? Mostly, but there could be some conflict that comes up a little later down the road when she develops a friendship with a guy. They are not going to be romantic by any means, but one of the challenges for him in this relationship is going to be learning to let go and trust.
