ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6, episode 2 preview: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, and a search for a cure
Monday night’s “Castle” episode is going to feature a little bit more in the way of high stakes compared to some other installments over the years. After all, this is what happens when you have a guy in Rick (Nathan Fillion) desperate to try and find a way to cure himself from his current “24 hours to live” poison, and a woman in Beckett (Stana Katic), who will be the proactive one in trying to figure this out.
When it comes to Rick’s current state, the first thing to know that there is a cure out there; but, in a twist befitting a mystery show, it has been stolen! (Cue dramatic repose.) It would take too long for a doctor to synthesize a new one, so the mission for Beckett and the government is to figure out who took the cure, and how to get it back.
Unfortunately, there is an issue that comes into play here in that Beckett really doesn’t have anything to go on. She tries to give Castle the ol’ “we’re looking into every possible lead” explanation, which is really just code for her not having any idea where to even start with this. With Castle’s life on the line, though, and her desperation to make their engagement lead to a wedding rather than a funeral, it’s fair to say that she is going to be rather insistent on making sure that she succeeds in what she is hoping to do. (She easily has the best line out of the whole sneak peek.)
