ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, and the ‘Need to Know’ struggle
Given the press materials that are out there already, it is safe to assume that Richard Castle is going to make it out of Monday night’s “Castle” episode alive, but what sort of ramifications are going to come out of him nearly dying? If there is one thing that we would say about this story right now, it is that it would be a poor assumption to sit here and say that the man is going to suddenly stop getting involved in mysteries and mayhem just because he put himself through a near-death experience.
What we are talking about here is the third episode of the season entitled “Need to Know,” which has a story revolving all around Castle trying to get in good with Ryan and Esposito to help them work on a case. Eventually, he does manage to use his powers of persuasion to get him on board; however, executive producer Andrew W. Marlow teases to TVLine that almost as soon as that happens, there are some other unexpected events that happen that cause Castle and Beckett to work together yet again:
“Beckett and McCord come in and take over the case … So now it’s the boys against the girls. And Castle’s caught in the middle.”
So at least here is some verification for you that Stana Katic’s character is going to still be working with Lisa Edelstein for at least a little while longer, and this should be a sort of conflict that makes Castle batty. While he’d love to help Beckett, he knows that she is on a very short leash with her employers. One wrong move, and she could be out of a job while he is under arrest. Therefore, it may just be about separate investigations for now, which should be very fun to watch.

The screen writer for “Castle” should stop forcing his thinking forced down the viewers throats…or he’ll be writing for his own entertainment. Viewers want Castle and Beckett solving crimes or whatever together – this is not the format for blacks dating whites, women’s rights, etc.
