ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Will Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion be planning a wedding soon?

For those of you hoping for a “Castle” wedding this season, you’re going to be waiting for a while longer to figure out whether or not this is something feasible to take place in the near future. While we know this is a subject that the show is going to address eventually, it is also pretty clear that there are some other issues that need to probably be dealt with first … including the oh-so important fact that Castle is on death’s door moving into the second episode thanks to being poisoned in the premiere.

The best person to turn to for answers when it comes to this sort of question is someone who is steering the ship in creator Andrew W. Marlowe, and while he is hesitant to say too much about what is going to be coming up soon, he did tease to Entertainment Weekly that we are going to see Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s characters talk about it in the near future:

“Castle and Beckett will be dealing with that and dealing with taking those next steps. When they want to do it, how they want to do it, what the perfect wedding looks like for Castle, what the perfect wedding looks like for Beckett. I think for the initial episodes, fans can expect that they’re trying to settle into their engagement. And some of those questions will start raising their heads as we go along into the fall. But I’m not going to say if there’s a wedding this year or not. That’s a Watch and See.”

Personally we would be surprised if there is a wedding that happens prior to the May sweeps, if it even happens then. When you have something like a wedding that is a game-changer for the show, there’s no real reason to rush it unless you have another relationship milestone that you want to touch on later. For now, they probably want to figure out the answers to some other questions first, including where they want to live and what their life could look like now that Beckett is a federal agent.
