ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: First look at possible partner to Nathan Fillion’s Rick
Is Richard Castle going to have a new partner-in-fighting-crime for the upcoming season of “Castle”? It’s a little early to render an opinion too strongly one way or another, but he will at least be spending some time with some new people in the NYPD as Beckett figures out whether or not she wants to stay with the familiar precinct, or test some new waters in Washington DC.
The photo attached here (first posted by TV Fanatic) shows Nathan Fillion working alongside Joshua Bitton, who is playing the new character of Grant “Sully” Sullivan. This is a guy who is a newcomer to this part of the precinct, but is very ambitious and interested in trying to prove himself to everyone to the best of his ability. When you consider that there always seems to be some sort of crime happening, we imagine that he is going to have plenty of opportunities to do so even if Beckett is around.
We’re still a little bit surprised about the nickname here, mostly because we associate the word “Sully” with the famous airline pilot who landed his plane on the Hudson River. Maybe this is a ringer that he is supposed to be heroic?
Regardless of the role that he plays on the show, we’re always happy to see another new addition to the “Castle” universe so long as they bring something interesting to it. With all of the change potentially coming this season, it may take a little bit of time to get used to all of the different dynamics and new arrivals.
Speaking of new arrivals, click here if you want to see a new “Castle” photo of Beckett working seemingly alongside Lisa Edelstein’s character, who will be a part of the first few episodes.
