‘The X Factor’ USA season 3 premiere video: Sally Hessnice’s vocals are not so nice
When we were sent over a video clip to share for “The X Factor” premiere tomorrow night, we were at first pretty excited. Then, we actually heard the video, and let’s just say that we are hoping that there is some real talent that will actually be showcased on the show itself when it premieres.
The woman auditioning here is Sally Hessnice, who strikes us as the sort of nice woman who just likes to sing at church and has fun with some of her friends. A few of them may even tell her that she’s not a terrible singer because they didn’t want to hurt her feelings, and they probably tried to talk her out of doing this. Now, she is standing in front of Simon Cowell, ready to be embarrassed on national television.
After the performance was over (which did not last long), Simon’s basic insinuation here was that this is the sort of performance that attracts dogs. Is he probably right here? We don’t really think that it would attract anyone. It’s just bad, which is one of those things that we understand are there for “comedy”, but they also get old after a while since you are really just grabbing at low-hanging fruit in delusional people who think that they are actually a star.
The only real benefit of seeing these play out is that it is almost like a cautionary tale in some ways. You see a video like this, and you hope that this will convince other bad contestants not to try out for the show.
