‘Tamra’s OC Wedding’ review: Tamra Barney, Alexis Bellino, and more reasons to groan

As a special event series for Bravo, “Tamra’s OC Wedding” is at times entertaining, and at times ridiculous. The parts of the show that actually work are the ones that are easy to relate to, mostly because they are the sort of thing that pretty much every couple goes through, whether it be tasting food, having awkward family members meet each other, and then bringing on the booze to make said meetings as easy as possible.

Then, you have the stuff that makes you complain about how unfair it is that Tamra gets to throw this giant, expensive bash for herself and then complain about the smallest things. Then, you have situations like Tamra inviting Alexis Bellino to her ceremony, even after she previously announced that this was something that she did not originally intend to do. So … why do it? We still don’t get that, since she knows that the woman is a major lightning rod for drama, and she brought it all over one of her last big events on “The Real Housewives of Orange County.”

So basically, Eddie Judge had a reason to be upset about that, just as both parties had a reason to be upset about some unruly family members later. The ultimate truth here, though, is that while there are individual moments, we’re not getting any real feeling that this should should ever become a separate spin-off from the flagship. Tamra’s value escalates when the other ladies are around, and at least on that show you can find some better reasons for them to hang out that make more sense. A wedding is so important, you’re not going to risk inviting them.
