‘Dexter’ season 8, episode 10 preview: What to expect in ‘Goodbye, Miami’

What's next? -It feels like the wait for Sunday night’s “Dexter” season 8 episode has been even longer than it has really been. Two weeks is a long time to wait for a cable show in the middle of the season, especially one that is this close to a series finale. Basically, the excitement for Dexter Morgan’s final send-off is starting to boil over a little bit.

So while tonight’s episode may be entitled “Goodbye, Miami,” you have to ask yourself this: Are we really going to see the final two episodes with Dexter away from the city? You should probably read this title as a statement of intent more so than a promise that he will be gone in this episode. There are a number of things weighing on him, and they will start to come to a head here.

1. Oliver Saxon – Do you really think that the Brain Surgeon is going to let Dexter go? Think of him as a major thorn in the side here.

2. The hunt for Hannah – Even though Deb may no longer be that interested in taking down Dexter’s girlfriend, that does not mean that Jacob Elway and his U.S. Marshall feel the same exact way.

3. Miami Metro – Dexter still has to find a way to say goodbye to his colleagues, especially in a way that makes sense. There are a lot of loose ends here that need to be tied up, including whether or not any of these people are going to be smart enough to finally figure out that he is really the Bay Harbor Butcher.

In the end, expect at least one life to hang in the balance by the end of this episode … if they are not killed off by the time the end credits roll.

What do you think is going to happen in “Goodbye, Miami,” and whose life are you the most concerned about? Take a look here at some video sneak peeks for the episode, and we will be back later with a full review.
