‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 10 spoilers: New video teases death in premiere

Given that this is “Grey’s Anatomy,” a show both set in the hospital and produced by Shonda Rhimes, it should not be a stunner at all to know that someone is going to die in the premiere. While there is probably not as much death on the show as the press probably makes there out to be, there is still enough of a precedent here to not be particularly stunned by the news.

The news about a death taking placed is teased at the end of the promo below for the two-hour premiere on September 25, as Owen tells Callie to call the time of death. Who are the candidates here? Let’s try to go through this to the best of our ability.

1. Chief Webber – He was electrocuted during the finale, and thus has to be under suspicion of not making it out. But this seems like way too big of a red herring, given that we already know his life is in jeopardy.

2. Some random person in the hospital – Maybe it’s a rarely-seen intern, or a patient the doctors were trying to help out before the storm hit. Given that many actors have long-term deals in the case, and there has been little talk about losing a major character, we don’t think there is any reason for fans of most series regulars (save for James Pickens Jr.) to be worried.

3. Someone completely unrelated – Promos can be misleading, people! This person could come in after the storm hits and dies for a completely different reason. What you see isn’t always what you get.
