‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: First look at Wayne Brady’s return, ‘Coming Back’

The second episode of “How I Met Your Mother” season 9 is going to be entitled “Coming Back,” and based on what we are seeing about this episode right now, there may be a pretty simple way to describe it: Emotional. For a show that is about comedy and a guy trying to tell a story that has a happy ending, there is still quite a bit to come in terms of pain.

The second episode of season 9 (read some details about the premiere here) is entitled “Coming Back,” and while it airs immediately after the first episode, there are some very different stories that it plans to tell. For one, James (Wayne Brady) is obviously nervous about talking about his divorce and putting Barney in a bad mood, but at the same time feels that he has to in order to explain why his husband is not around. Meanwhile, Ted is going to continue his tour of sadness, knowing that his best friend is marrying the woman that he believed to be a major love of his life.

Take a look at the full synopsis below:

“When James reveals that he is getting divorced, Robin worries about how Barney will take the news. Meanwhile, Marshall races to find a way to get to New York in time for the wedding, and Ted deals with being alone at a romantic hotel.”

By the time that we reach the end of this episode, some of this may be resolved … but not all of it. Ted is going to be dealing with his feelings for at least a couple more episodes, while Brady has signed on to do a pretty lengthy arc on the show this year.
