‘Saturday Night Live’: Lady Gaga to perform, possibly host on upcoming season
According to TVLine, Gaga is set to perform at some point during the show’s upcoming season this fall, and she is rumored to do a Justin Timberlake / Bruno Mars sort of performance and host at the same time. This is clearly an ambitious move, but Gaga is someone with the talent to pull it off. She has experience in sketches already on the show, in addition to some other assorted acting gigs over the course of her career. While she has a tendency to come across as someone who takes herself far too seriously, we also feel at the same time like she has shown a great willingness to come on this show and completely rip herself a new one at times and we love her for it.
Obviously, our real dream is to see more people with a definite comedy background in the hosting role, but we know that this is an ideal more so than a reality. NBC loves having stars on board to get major ratings since most of the cast will be funny regardless of who the host is. Gaga does have plenty to promote, in between her upcoming “ARTPOP” album along with her new single, which is trying to develop into a major radio hit.
This news comes after a rumor first surfaced that Lindsay Lohan was asked to host the premiere, but this was later proven to be not true.
