‘The Mentalist’ season 6 spoilers: New promo teases ‘end’ of Red John
Before you even tune in to the new season of “The Mentalist,” the folks over at CBS want you to desperately know one thing: They have very real plans to tie a great big bow on the Red John story, and give you answers by the midway point of the season. The first promo below from the network makes that clear, in between giving us a very Joker-like quote about wiping the smile off of the character’s face, and talking about how Patrick Jane can finally sleep a little bit easier at night.
This is clearly the best promo that CBS has released for any of their fall series at this point, mostly because it actually does a good job at delivering a promise: There is no more sitting around and throwing your popcorn at the TV over the infamous villain not being unmasked.
In addition to this video, the network also released today the following synopsis from this season premiere, which suggests that we are going to see the seven suspects and get to know a little bit more about them:
“While investigating the murder of a man who had been missing for two years, Jane and Lisbon secretly continue to narrow down the list of Red John suspects.”
There will be some suspects cut out over the course of the first several episodes, and then we will ultimately have the big reveal. Once this character is finally dealt with, there will be some changes to the show, including the removal of some series regulars and the possible casting of some new ones. The show will finally be able to experiment a little bit more, which they have not had much of a chance to do so far.
We will leave you with this simple question: Are you ready for this Red John fiasco to finally be over? Be sure to share below.
