‘The Following’ season 2 spoilers: Do we have a replacement for Agent Parker?
When it comes to “The Following” season 2, one of the questions that we’ve long wondered is whether or not we were going to see a replacement in some ways to the late Agent Parker. Was Shawn Ashmore’s character going to suddenly assume this sort of “Top Dog” role? The problem that comes in with that is that he is a little bit young, even though he is proving himself to be rather skilled at the same time.
Well, it now looks as though this search could very well be over … at least for the time being. According to TV Guide, James McDaniel, largely known for his role on “NYPD Blue,” has been booked to play the role of Ken Phillips, a man who is appointed to run a task force in New York City. McDaniel recently took part in the Netflix original series “Orange Is the New Black,” and this marks a major gig for him on a show that already includes such new additions as “Dexter’s” Sam Underwood.
Now, we just have to hope that McDaniel ends up lasting at least a little while longer than Parker, who was buried alive during the season 1 finale. He’s still likely going to have to contend with the nefarious criminal known as Joe Carroll, given that James Purefoy was announced recently as returning to the series for more. But what form will his return take, and how soon will he show up?
The cast for “The Following” season 2 has some more additions that we haven’t talked about here. For more on that, just be sure to head over to the link here for more.
