‘The Carrie Diaries’ season 2 spoilers: Meet Carrie Bradshaw’s newest love interest
While “The Carrie Diaries” and “Sex and the City” may not have everything in common, there are apparently some things that the two shows can very much agree on … and giving Carrie Bradshaw frequent love interests is one of them.
We’re still far away from the timeline of meeting Big (as if it matters, given that this show has already thrown being canon out the window), but TVLine reports that newbie Chris Wood is going to be booked for the role of Adam Weaver, a brilliant young playwright who will start by having a professional relationship with AnnaSohpia Robb’s character, only to later see it become something more than that.
As you would probably assume based on the character’s casting in the first place, there is clearly going to be some pretty significant conflict for Carrie and her current love interest Sebastian on this season, which could lead the door open for Adam to take his place as the #1 guy in her life. This season of “The Carrie Diaries” is, after all, largely about change at the moment. Lindsey Gort has already been brought in for the major new role of Samantha Jones, and the show is also moving to a new time on Friday nights starting later this fall, where it may fare better without the massive amount of competition breathing down its neck on Mondays.
Are you on board with this casting, or did you honestly stop watching “The Carrie Diaries” before it really even started? We want to hear some of your thoughts below! While there is talk about some other characters from the “Sex and the City” universe joining the show at some point, don’t expect it to be soon.
