‘Bates Motel’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Boss,’ ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ alum sign on for new roles
With Norman Bates being completely unhinged now, you know that season 2 of “Bates Motel” is going to be creepy, almost on a skin-crawling level. As a matter of fact, we’re looking at every casting that comes in and wondering to ourselves whether or not Freddie Highmore’s character is going to be doing very horrible things to them.
First, we have the news about Kathleen Robertson joining the show. While she is not a secret member of the Robertson clan from “Duck Dynasty,” the “Boss” alum is going to be joining the show as Jodi, a smart and powerful businesswoman / artist who is not afraid to use anything and everything at her disposal to get her way. What makes her an interesting cast in our eyes is that she could be almost the perfect bait for Norman to do something terrible to; she could use the same techniques on him that she does everyone, and never know that there is something horrible lying underneath the surface.
As for the other new face, TVLine reports that former “Grey’s Anatomy” actor Michael O’Neill, best know for his role in the hospital shooting at the end of season 6 that devastated fans of the show, will be appearing in the role of Nick. Basically, he sounds almost like Liam Neeson in “Taken,” except that his daughter in Miss Watson is actually dead. He is going to be doing almost anything he can to catch the person responsible and get vengeance upon them, which means more trouble for Norman … maybe. The advantage that he has is that he could see this Nick character coming as he starts to sniff around and find suspects.
The cast of “Bates Motel” is filling in slowly on this new season, as we already know about Norma Bates’ new love interest. The show returns to A&E in the spring with new episodes.
