‘Last Man Standing’ season 3 spoilers: ‘Duck Dynasty’ duo land premiere gig

Casting news -When you consider that Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing” character helps to run an hunting and fishing supplies store, there is really only one way to describe what we are going to see take place in the upcoming season premiere: Something very appropriate.

Today, ABC announced via press release that “Duck Dynasty” stars Willie and Si Robertson are going to make their acting debut when the show returns on Friday, September 20 with all new episodes. As per their characters … well, it’s looking like they will be themselves, which makes some sense given that they really don’t need to play anybody else to get attention. Thanks to the A&E show, the Duck Commander product line has exploded in popularity nationwide, and even an episode of it focused on Willie getting a whole section of Bass Pro filled with Duck Commander products.

As for “Last Man Standing,” this is a huge get. The “Duck Dynasty” fans are a loyal bunch, and the show delivers much higher ratings than the ABC comedy does. It’s not often that you see a cable show with the capability of helping out something that airs on primetime on a major network; but hey, rules were meant to be broken.

“Duck Dynasty” will return with new episodes on Wednesday, August 14, which is precisely a week away. We’re curious now if there will be an episode themed all around Si and Willie filming their spot on the show, and the crazy fish-out-of-water experience that this is (especially for Si). In one way, we’re excited to see how this plays out; at the same time, we’re somewhat lukewarm on the idea of the Robertsons drifting even further away from what they were originally.
