‘True Blood’ season 6: Kristin Bauer van Straten on fate of Alexander Skarsgard’s Eric

A time for speculation -We’ve already lost one key character on “True Blood” season 6 in Todd Lowe’s Terry, so is it really possible that another one in Alexander Skarsgard’s Eric Northman could be coming up down the road? (Spoiler / speculation alert.)

The idea of Eric not making it past a season has been debated for years now, and for a few good reasons. For one, the character just keeps getting himself in positions where he could be killed, he is someone whose death would change the show greatly, and Skarsgard is a rising star with a number of movie offers.

From a story perspective, you could even say that there is some sort of stage set for Eric or a number of other characters to die this season, given that we do have all of the madness going on right now with vampire camp, and Eric will be unhinged following the death of Nora.

One person who is keeping quiet understandably is Kirsten Bauer van Straten, who plays the part of his progeny Pam on the show. Speaking on “Access Live” this week, she explained why she has so much anxiety over a possible Eric death for a number of reasons:

“It is a fear of mine for a couple of reasons. I love being around him… It’s a family. You know, I’m around Alex often for 70 hours a week and we laugh and laugh. It’s my favorite part of the job … So I could cry thinking about [no longer working with him] whenever — if it’s 10 years from now and I’m not next to Alex, I’ll be sad.”

Doesn’t this get you choked up already? All we can say for now is that Eric will be around until at least the penultimate episode of the season entitled “Life Matters,” which is definitely an ominous name for an hour. Plus, HBO has long hyped up their “no one lives forever” tagline all year.
