‘Criminal Minds’ season 9 spoilers: Introducing ‘Final Shot’

By the time that you are in the ninth season of any series, let alone one where you are continually having to struggle to come up with new stories and things to put your characters through, there may be a certain feeling that is akin to pulling out your own hair. To add to that, what we have for you now are some details from the fourth episode of the upcoming “Criminal Minds” season, which is by our estimation one of the hardest episodes to write for. By this point, the excitement and the sparkle of the new season is gone, and you’re not far enough in the season to start pushing some new stories.

Therefore, you are probably going to end up seeing something here that provides some entertainment, but is hardly reinventing the wheel. According to SpoilerTV, episode 9×04 is going to be entitled “Final Shot,” which is a variation of a title that we have heard a number of times on some different shows. The Unsub in this case will be a South African sniper, and that role is currently being cast.

“Criminal Minds” is in an interesting position this year. The cast is clearly comfortable with each other at this point, and they also may have a certain amount of luxury now with the knowledge that everyone associated with the series is coming back. That is somewhat in contrast to “NCIS,” which has been forced to scramble this summer following the decision from Cote de Pablo to check out after being a part of the show for eight years.

We don’t expect the greatest “Criminal Minds” episode we’ve ever seen with this hour, but we just hope that it comes close to equaling some of what we saw with the Replicator last season.
