‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ review: Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, booze, and more
There were a number of different ways in which you could read Sunday night’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey” episode. From one standpoint, it was a drama all about the cracks in the relationship between Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice. Then, there was also the occasional silliness that happened when alcohol got involved.
This is not something that we ever really say with these people, but there were some situations this week where getting buzzed actually helped these ladies rather than hurt. What was the real reason for that? We like to attribute it to the possibility that there was nothing really that was left for them to fight about, since they had already gotten out such a multitude of nasty comments out in the open. Therefore, it was somewhat easier to actually be a little sillier.
But does this mean that we are any closer to that moment where these ladies will start to take some deep breaths, and realize that the problems that both they and their spouses have can be repaired? Well, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here. There is a long road of recovery when it comes to these two, and one episode or even some counseling with Dr. V and the two Joes will not change things.
At the end, though, we’re still tired of dealing with all of this. We’d really just prefer seeing Caroline Manzo and her immediate family at this point, or some fun involving Jacqueline Laurita and her husband. This has been the most difficult season of the show to watch, and while continuity when it comes to the cast can be a great thing, there’s also a certain point where it just feels like constant regurgitation. We’re getting near that point.
