‘Parks and Recreation’ season 6 spoilers: Sam Elliott to play … Ron Swanson?

Parks and RecreationCan anyone really out-Ron Swanson the original Ron Swanson? We are getting close to the point where we will find out, and it is all courtesy of a man who knows quite a few things about playing burly, tough-guy men: Sam Elliott. According to TVLine, he is going to appear in an upcoming episode of “Parks and Recreation” season 6 as a man who will basically try to equal the testosterone levels of a certain man played by Nick Offerman … sort of. He will basically be the version of the character that thrives in Pawnee’s sister city of Eagleton.

Can he pull it off? Let’s start this off by running all of the necessary checks. Is he manly enough? Check. Does he have a good-enough mustache? Also check. Does he fancy woodworking? We don’t know the answer to that just yet, but we’re sure that there is a certain mastery of a trade here that will make Ron jealous (and yes, jealous Ron is a very entertaining thought).

The episode featuring the appearance from Elliott will be the same one that also features a guest spot from Kristen Bell, who will be playing a successful Eagleton doppelganger that causes Leslie Knope to somewhat lose her mind. Given how much Leslie has already wanted to smash a few Eagleton brains in over the years, she will probably just see this as an even greater way to fuel her fire.

New episodes of “Parks and Recreation” star on NBC beginning on Thursday, September 26, where it will square off in a mad competition against the CBS titan “The Big Bang Theory.” You know that will be pretty entertaining to watch.
