‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Nina Dobrev honored at Power of Youth event
Nina Dobrev must be getting used to airplane travel these days. Last weekend, she was in San Diego following some filming in Atlanta on “The Vampire Diaries” season 5, and this weekend, she was in Los Angeles getting honored for her work away from the show as someone trying to do good for the world.
The specific event that she was at was Variety’s Power of Youth, which also included such honorees as Tyler Posey, Quvenzhane Wallis, Abigail Breslin, and Jake T. Austin. The first thing we have to say here is that it’s kind of awesome that “Kingdom Hearts” (one of our favorite games) was one of the sponsors of the red carpet, which Dobrev stood out on wearing a red dress with oversized safety pins at the shoulders.
Dobrev was presented with her award this weekend by her boss at “The Vampire Diaries” in Julie Plec, who tweeted out the following message about the honor:
“Very proud to have presented @ninadobrev with her Variety Power of Youth award today. And very grateful that the teleprompter worked.”
Now, it is yet again back to work on “The Vampire Diaries” for Nina, given that there are at least 22 episodes to be filmed this year, and that is not an easy thing to do. Expect more long hours, overnight shooting days, and some reasons for her to need another jet-setting vacation like the one that she had this summer. Also, expect some great things from the show when it returns to The CW on Thursday, October 10.
