‘Duck Dynasty’ season 4 premiere date set for August 14
Start putting on your “happy happy happy” faces now, because after a tense period of time earlier this year regarding salary negotiations, A&E has confirmed that their mega-smash hit “Duck Dynasty” is going to be back on the air with new episodes beginning on Wednesday, August 14 in the all-familiar 10:00 p.m. Eastern time slot.
There is one major change that you have to be aware of almost right away here: and it’s a new addition to the cast! Alan Robertson, who is actually Phil’s oldest son, will be making his full-time debut in a little less than a month. One major change between him and some of the other family members? There’s no beard on this guy. Instead, he’s a heavily-religious man who decided to transition over from a job in the world of faith to help lead the Duck Commander public relations front.
Now, is this show going to remain just as entertaining? Just based on the idea of the Robertsons really even needing someone to run the PR front, we are somewhat unsure. What originally made the “Duck Dynasty” gang so entertaining is that they didn’t quite understand that they were famous, and didn’t really care. Part of it reminds us of TLC’s “Cake Boss” when Buddy Valastro opened that factory. The entire small-scale image that we enjoyed was lost. We’d much rather see more of Willie and the guys running around with their crazy antics in the swamp (or his brothers jousting with cardboard boxes rather than working) over some more celebrity guest stars.
Regardless of however, we may feel on the subject, there is no questioning right now that “Duck Dynasty” is some sort of crazy American phenomenon. This family is uber-rich now thanks to product sales alone, and we expect the ratings to once again start to break the records that A&E has in place.
