‘The X Factor’ USA / UK notes: Fifth Harmony, Carly Rose Sonenclar, One Direction

The X Factor LogoFifth Harmony covers Cher Lloyd – Does anyone else dig how Fifth Harmony threw us a massive curveball with this cover video? We saw that the title of the song was “Want U Back,” and yet the started with the introduction for “With Ur Love” and we thought there was a typo by whoever created the video. Then, we realized … mash-up! Sort of. It’s mostly “Want U Back,” with some notes of the other song mixed in.

Interestingly, Cher wrote to them on Twitter that she loved the song, and wants to invite the ladies on tour with her. Could it happen? Hm …. We’ll keep a close watch on this one. They would be the second act from this season to score a major touring slot of this happens, as Emblem3 is going to be opening at some Selena Gomez shows this year.

Carly Rose Sonenclar in New Zealand? – Not exactly, but she did at least talk with More FM host Justin Evans from the country. This almost-14-minute video serves as proof that “The X Factor” as a show is pretty international. Even though New Zealand has their own version of the show, Carly still scored a radio chat in the country. Check it out in full below.

One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” – Speaking of international flavors, here’s some from Great Britain. The name of the song is silly, and the music video is even sillier. At least these guys are staying true to who they are, and aren’t just mugging for the cameras or starting to get a “bad boy” reputation. This track is basically being used to promote their upcoming concert film, which is going to be interesting to watch when it comes to sales. Can boy bands really put seats in a theater, even when the guys are not even present?

This is just one edition of our “X Factor” notes, designed to cram in as much content about your favorite singers as possible. Want to read more? Then just check out the story over here for more Carly – Fifth Harmony highlights.
