‘Glee’ season 5: See Chord Overstreet perform song for Cory Monteith

Chord OverstreetOne day after we first learned what “Glee” and executive producer Ryan Murphy have planned for the show following the death of one of their own in Cory Monteith, we are seeing another actor who worked with him taking the time to tribute the loss of a dear friend.

While at his concert at the Roxy in Los Angeles Saturday night, Chord Overstreet dedicated the performance below to Cory, and also said online that the entire event was in his honor. There was a massive line outside of the venue prior to its start, and Chord also performed a series of popular covers that were both featured on the show and not.

One other notable song that he performed was the Travie McCoy hit “Billionaire,” which was one of his first performances on the show that also featured Cory on it. It was pretty clear that the two guys were good friends in real life, and he is one of the many people who is now taking his death very hard.

It is still far too early to really figure out just where Overstreet is going to head next on “Glee,” as his character of Sam Evans may be relied upon even more so than usual as one of the strong, athletic male characters. We left him in a pretty interesting position, as he was working hard to graduate, and also found out the shocking news that his girlfriend Brittany (Heather Morris, whose role will be greatly diminished due to her pregnancy) is going to MIT to get a degree after a scholarship was offered to her.

If you want to read up on Cory’s tragedy some more, including hearing from Lea about why she wanted “Glee’s” production to only be slightly delayed, be sure to head on over to the link here.
