‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5 spoilers: Damon / Elena, Katherine’s cold, and more
In addition to sharing that sizzle reel of footage past and present yesterday, the “Vampire Diaries” season 5 panel at Comic-Con dished quite a bit of scoop about just what we can see when the show picks up on The CW come Thursday, October 10 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.
In one way, we had a major dose of something that was very much expected: The Damon and Elena are at least go try and be happy as a couple. Julie Plec addressed the pair’s future by saying that while there are going to be some pretty significant bumps in the road for the two parties, they will at least try to stay together through much of it all:
“There’s no drama in happiness, [but we] try to keep them happy for a while in midst of all the bad things around them trying to tear them apart.”
Plec also mentioned that most of the Big Bad characters that this show has do not often start out as the villain in the early going, and therefore it is safe to assume that there is someone coming down the pipeline that makes Silas look like virtually nothing in comparison.
As for some other specific characters, Caroline will be trying to push for Tyler to come to college, thinking that the two can now be together with Klaus now in New Orleans. Will it work? That remains to be seen. Meanwhile, there is also going to be quite a story to tell courtesy of Katherine, who has to handle being human for the first time in several decades, and even something as simple as a cold is going to end up getting to her.
In case you missed the sizzle reel we mentioned earlier, don’t worry: You can check it out (complete with some of its new footage) over at the link here.
