‘The Carrie Diaries’ season 2 spoilers: Lindsey Gort to play Samantha Jones

One of the most-coveted roles out there for the second season of “The Carrie Diaries” finally has a name attached to it, though we imagine that a good many of you out there will have no idea just who this name actually is.

Nonetheless, let’s get to the news. Samantha Jones, the aggressive and sex-fueled woman in the HBO series played by Kim Cattrall, will be taken on in this show by Lindsey Gort. The actress is a relative unknown to most TV viewers, and her most notable credit was for an episode of CBS’ now-canceled series “Vegas.” However, there is a slight resemblance here between her and a young Cattrall, and depending on her talent within the part, we could actually see this part working out.

Gort will have a pretty lengthy amount of time to really prepare herself for this role, thanks largely to the fact that the new season of “The Carrie Diaries” is still over three months away from premiering on October 25. She is the first person among Carrie Bradshaw’s modern circle of friends to make the cut on the show, and considering that we don’t know if Charlotte or Miranda will ever have an opportunity to surface given the show’s low ratings, it could actually end up making her role even more important at the end of the day.

Gort will first turn up very early on in the season, and should be staying put for a rather long time. After all, remember that she’s not going anywhere when it comes to being a valuable part of Carrie’s life.
