‘Teen Wolf’ season 3, episode 7 review: A shocking death, and a Scott / Allison moment
Going into Monday night’s “Teen Wolf” season 3 episode, the rumor mill was running strong that this was going to be an hour where we saw a character die. There was a serious feel throughout the episode, even in some of the lighter scenes. (Be honest: How many of you were cheering during that Scott-and-Allison scene?)
At the end of the day, there was a death that very few of us saw coming, and it was one that will hopefully not be in vain: Boyd. Sinqua Walls’ character fought the good fight, but in the end fell victim to the pain and power of the Alpha Pack. It was a dramatic moment on the show to see his body lying in a room filled somewhat with water, while all of his friends and loved ones looked on in despair. (This just isn’t a good past year for Walls, given that his character of Lancelot also supposedly died on “Once Upon a Time.”)
But what is the long-term impact of this death? For now, we imagine that like many other sad moments on drama series like this, it will be used to drive the characters forward to a common goal. In this case, this common goal is trying to take down Decaulion once and for all. Maybe this will be the motivation that they need in order to figure out a way in which to make it happen. Thankfully, there were a few clues at the end about the True Alpha that we are personally taking as a reason to have hope.
