‘True Blood’ season 7 official; HBO renews Anna Paquin series for more

True BloodBig news coming out now from the world of HBO: Despite having falling ratings for season 6, “True Blood” is going to be back for even more vampire action and intrigue in the future.

The premium cable network announced on Monday that season 7 of the show is now official, and it will return for more episodes with Brian Buckner again as showrunner in the summer of next year. In a statement, here is what HBO’s president Michael Lombardo had to say about getting the opportunity to bring the show back for more:

“TRUE BLOOD remains a signature show for HBO, and a true phenomenon with our viewers … Thanks to Brian Buckner and his talented team, the show continues to be a thrill ride like nothing else on TV.”

There are still some significant mysteries left when it comes to the future of the show. Will there only be ten episodes again? This was the first year that the show was not a full twelve episodes, but the primary reason for that was because of Anna Paquin’s pregnancy rather than any desire to shorten the show.

However, there are still some other questions moving forward. Some people, including Alexander Skarsgard and Joe Manganiello, are becoming pretty significant stars with movie roles lining up, and you have to wonder just how long they will all be able to stay on the show. Also, there are questions regarding the story, and whether or not you want to give the story a quicker ending, or draw this thing out as long as possible.
