‘The X Factor’ USA: Hear Fifth Harmony’s ‘Me and My Girls’ (audio)

The gifts for Fifth Harmony fans keep on coming. Just two days before the video release of “Miss Movin’ On” and also three days before the song ultimately hits iTunes, we now have a look at another track from the girl-group, this one entitled “Me and My Girls.”

So what does this song really entail? Basically, it should feel very much familiar to any of you out there who listened to their first hit on repeat over and over again. The song is really at its core a feel-good pop anthem about having fun with your friends, and doing the sort of silly things that you don’t really do when guys are around. There are allusions to Justin Bieber and One Direction music, pajamas, taking selfies, and a number of other things that would not be a part of the world of music back even in 2010.

As for knowing their market, the ladies seem to have that down pat. This song is catered specifically to that teen girl market who likes Niall Horan and company, with Simon Cowell knowing that these same consumers want to also have a girl-band made up of people that they want to look up to and be friends with. There’s also some great vocals in here, and a bridge that features a few breakdowns.

We don’t know if this song will be used as a second single or a pre-order bonus, but it is something worth watching out for. We’ll have some more news on it when it becomes available.
