‘Hell’s Kitchen’ review: A look back, and a leap forward
Loyal “Hell’s Kitchen” viewers, there you have it: The final four on “Hell’s Kitchen” has been revealed, and in just a matter of weeks now, we will be finding out which one of these uber-intense people will be winning the title of having survived Gordon Ramsay’s gauntlet.
Before we get to talking about the contestants still in the running, however, let’s start off here by painting a brief obituary of sorts for Susan. She was at times likable, has a serious arch-rival in lamb, and was a part of the stronger group of women the show has ever seen. Sadly for her, she was probably the weakest link of the five people tonight, so seeing her leave was no surprise. Just getting this far, though, is a good showing, and she has nothing to be ashamed of.
So where do the final four stand? This is actually a pretty even competition, at least when it comes to people likely to make the final. John is the best guy standing this season, but will Ramsay really reward any man after this debacle? We’re unsure. Meanwhile, we don’t know if Cyndi has been consistent enough. Despite her finishing in the bottom tonight, Ja’Nel is still our pick to win based on overall body of work, and while Mary has had her moments, she also has battled her own demons a few too many times. A John / Ja’Nel final is what we’re probably looking at, but the latter should have this in the bag unless there are some major mistakes made along the way.
