The Vampire Lestat season 3 episode 7 (finale): Cliffhanger ahead?

As many out there may be aware at this point, The Vampire Lestat season 3 episode 7 marks the big finale over on AMC — so what all can you expect?

Well, this is obviously an episode that has quite a bit on its plate to address, starting with the rather simple fact that Louis and Lestat no longer have their heads. What is going to happen as a result of that? Well, we know that Lestat had an estate auction but at the same time, Louis was there — someone is bringing him back, at least. We imagine this is going to be resolved, and we sure hope that we hear something more about what Armand and Daniel did to make it to this point.

So is every loose end under the sun going to be tied together? Well, this is where things do get a little bit murky and for a number of different reasons. For starters, there is no official order for a season 4 at AMC right now — meaning that ending with a cliffhanger would be more of a risk. Yet, at the same time, there are certainly more works from Anne Rice that could be adapted, and the show has been well-received by both critics and fans alike.

Our feeling is that The Vampire Lestat could actually wrap things up this season in a way that is similar to what we had with Interview with the Vampire — with that, we mean a measure of closure and yet, an open door in the event more stories are told. We do think that the writers can do both … but just let these vampires get their heads back.
