Dexter: Resurrection season 2 premiere date: A July 2026 update

Is there a chance that we are going to hear something more about Dexter: Resurrection between now and the end of July? We know that production on season 2 has been ongoing for a good while now. Meanwhile, in the past it has been suggested that the Michael C. Hall series could return as early as the fall.

So when you do lay out the full picture of what could be next for the show, it is easy to presume that an announcement could be coming. However, suggesting that news will be released this month still feels a tad premature. If the show returns in October or November, wouldn’t an August or September reveal make a tad bit more sense? If you wait that long, at the very least there is more in the way of footage you can actually show off.

Now as for what we are expecting to see across the upcoming season, here is what we know at present: Brian Cox is going to have a huge role as Don Framt a.k.a. the New York Ripper, whose identity was officially revealed at the end of season 1. Meanwhile, another new potential adversary is coming via the Five Borough Killer, played by former Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens. Recently it was confirmed that Krysten Ritter is going to return, but it remains to be seen if this means Mia is alive or if this is all some sort of hallucination.

No matter where the story goes here, the biggest thing we can state with a level of confidence is that we’re going to be in for something great. The first season of Resurrection managed to be the best version of Dexter Morgan’s story since the fourth or fifth season of the original. For the first time in a while, there is serious momentum moving forward!
