In a matter of days, you are going to have a chance to see Dutton Ranch season 1 episode 9 — in other words, the crazy finale! Are you ready for what that means?
Obviously, the greater Yellowstone universe is not one afraid of making big moves, and that is something we have seen this season already. After all, remember that we saw Beth and Rip make a literal big move down to Texas and since that time, they’ve lost their herd and also been forced into dealing with Beulah and her enormous 10-Petal Ranch, which has its own fair share of chaos all across the board.

Because of everything that we’ve spelled out above already, we are not entering the Dutton Ranch finale wondering whether or not there is going to be a cliffhanger. Instead, this is more about what that cliffhanger would be. Even if there was no official renewal at the time that the finale was written, it was easy to assume that there would be more and that this would be precisely what the powers-that-be would want. You can use this installment in order to better set the stage for the next chapter.
What are the most likely cliffhangers?
Well, we would not be surprised if at least some of it is tied to the message Joaquin sent to Mariano, both his biological father and also someone clearly capable of putting others in danger. Sure, this is someone who could be wrapped up in the finale, but why do that at this point? From where we stand, it is far more interesting to simply use him as a driving force for a lot of the other stories ahead.
Meanwhile, we still do wonder if Beth and Rip are going to be outflanked. While they are the characters you naturally want to root for, at the same time you can’t give them too many wins at once. Instead, so much of the story here is about overcoming what is a near-constant serious of obstacles.
