NCIS: Origins season 3: Mark Harmon to have major role
If you were looking for some major and unexpected NCIS: Origins season 3 news today, let’s just say we have you covered.
According to CBS itself, Mark Harmon is going to be back on-screen in every episode moving forward this season as Leroy Jethro Gibbs. He has served as a narrator and executive producer on the show from the beginning, but a number of his other appearances have been sporadic cameos and that is more or less it.

Ultimately, we imagine that Gibbs’ appearance is going to be a part of a storyline that effectively spans both eras and with the prequel doing far fewer episodes this season, it opens the door to us being able to see a far more serialized arc than ever before. We’re all for this, but we do hope that the show does also work to answer another key question: Is Lala still out there in the present? We have said for a good while now that one of our major goals for this show is that we are eventually going to see these two reunite and that somehow, this is a big part of why we are seeing this story told in the first place.
At the moment there is no premiere date for NCIS: Origins season 3 — our personal expectation (at least for now) is that it is going to be coming at some point moving into either late September or early October. Fingers crossed that this is the most noteworthy and substantial story arc that we’ve had a chance to see for the series so far.
