The Way Home season 4 episode 10: A hopeful series finale?

We may not necessarily want to think about it right now, but that does not make it less true: The Way Home has almost reached the end. The series finale is going to be coming your way tomorrow night via an extended story, one that is poised to answer at least a number of the show’s biggest questions.

Is it going to answer all of them? Well, we would not exactly count on that. Not only that, but we’ve never felt like it is the goal of the series to tie everything in a neat bow anyway. We do not need to even understand the time-travel phenomenon at the heart of the show so much as we want Del, Kat, and Alice to all be happy. At various times they have looked towards the past for answers, but can they be content in their present? This is what we still need to get a few answers on.

Speaking per SheKnows, Chyler Leigh was able to summarize the final episode in what is fundamentally just a few simple words: “Family, tears, smiles.” How can you not be intrigued after that? Our hope is that the tears are of the happy-cry variety, and the family part of it does really harken back to what is effectively the soul of this show. From the start, this has been about watching these generations of women figure out what they want out of their lives — there is no real reason to deviate from that now.

With all of this said…

We would not mind at all if there are a few dangling threads for a possible season 5 — just in case the producers are ever able to come back for more.
