Dancing with the Stars 35 adds Guillermo Rodriguez to cast

The cast of Dancing with the Stars 35 officially has more humor in the mix, and it is very-much thanks to Guillermo Rodriguez!

This week, the ABC reality competition show made it official that the longtime Jimmy Kimmel Live! sidekick is going to be heading to the ballroom. This is a move that makes a ton of sense just because he’s not only funny, but he is a legitimate talent for the network who also works out of Los Angeles already. He’s also had a true underdog story through most of his career and with that, this is another major step forward. Also, it is a chance to get to know him beyond just being a part of Kimmel’s on-air inner circle.

Now that we’ve said all of this, the comparisons to Andy Richter here are going to be inevitable. Just as Guillermo is a sidekick to Kimmel, Richter sat next to Conan O’Brien for many years. They are both older than the average cast member on the show and neither one of them is the most athletic of the group. Rodriguez has a chance to last several weeks but if that happens, it is going to be based on his personality and beyond just that, the relationship that he forms with his partner. We would love to see someone like Daniella paired with him, mostly due to the fact that she hasn’t been paired with someone like him over the years.

There are some other contestants who are still going to be announced for season 35, so let’s just hope that we find out more about them over the weeks and months to come here.
