Sugar season 2 premiere: Is Henry really dead?

We assumed heading into the Sugar season 2 premiere on Apple TV that there would be some sort of substantial surprise. However, the show still went far beyond what we ever expected.

After all, we entered this chapter of the Colin Farrell noir anticipating that Henry was going to be a Big Bad of sorts! This is someone who not only was a key part of season 1, but also seemed to have key information on the whereabouts of John’s sister! John followed him in the opening minutes of the premiere, leading to him being found … and then eventually leading to his sudden death. Even as he started to pass away, he refused to give Sugar any information that would be useful.

Unless there is something about these aliens that we do not know, Henry is 100% gone. By virtue of that, Sugar now has to move forward and he has with the case of Ji Moon. He realizes that he is a man without a home at this point, so he might as well try to make something for himself in Los Angeles.

Can his sister still be found?

This is where we do look slightly to the politician, as noted at the end of the premiere. Given that there are seemingly some aware of the existence of aliens on Earth, isn’t it then possible to think he could also be aware of where someone is? The search for John’s sister is the long-term narrative of the show and we refuse to believe that the producers are going to be giving up on it all of a sudden. Of course, that does not mean that it is going to be referenced either now or some other point within the relatively near future.
