Scarpetta season 2 premiere date: A June 2026 update

As we are now past the halfway point of June, what better time is there to check in on a Scarpetta season 2 over at Prime Video?

Well, the top thing to note here from the start is honestly not that complicated — it is worth a reminder that we are going to be getting more of the Nicole Kidman drama! Filming for the latest chapter actually began not that long after the first season aired, something that is tied to the show getting a two-season order from the moment it was picked up.

Now, here is where we have to celebrate the good news that comes as a result of that: There is a good chance that Scarpetta will not have the same massive wait between seasons that we tend to get with some other streaming shows. Are we still anticipating a holding pattern for most of the rest of this year? Sure, mostly because it makes no real sense for Prime to bring more of the show to us just yet. our general feeling is that a spring / summer 2027 launch here is most likely, which means that we will get more specifics either at the end of this year or around January / February.

While we are not trying to necessarily throw ourselves into the super-far future as of yet, this does feel as good of a time as any to raise some questions regarding season 3. Is there a chance that we could also get that? Depending on how the Amazon-owned streaming service feels about the viewership for season 1, we would not be shocked if they order that before season 2 premieres. It may also help to get Kidman locked down in terms of her schedule, as she constantly has a lot of projects in the works.
