‘Arrow’ season 2 spoilers: Summer Glau signs on, genre fans die with excitement
Well, “Arrow” has managed to find a pretty significant way to boost their geek credibility here, casting a “Firefly” and “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” staple to play a role that is certainly going to be giving Oliver Queen some substantial trouble on the hit CW show.
Sources have confirmed that Summer Glau (who is also well-known for “The Cape” and “The 4400”) has signed on for a recurring role this season as Isabel Rochev, the Vice President of Acquisitions for Stellmoor International, a company that is going to be hoping to take over Oliver’s family business on the show.
It will be interesting to see how the writers choose to transfer this character over from the comics to the books, but she is definitely going to be an adversary for him throughout her appearances on her show. What we are really hoping right now is that “Arrow” breaks the jinx that has been hovering over Glau’s name: While the majority of the shows that she has been on over the years have been very well-received among the sci-fi community, most of them have a reputation for being canceled well before their time. (To be fair, though, she has also appeared on some non-genre shows, including “Hawaii Five-0” and “Grey’s Anatomy.”)
“Arrow” season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, October 9 on The CW, and the show just became that much more interesting to watch.
What do you think about Glau’s casting on the show, and does this somehow make you even more excited to see where “Arrow” goes from here? As always, we want to check out your thoughts below! Meanwhile, be sure to click here if you want to take a first look inside the show’s season 2 writers’ room.
