Love Island USA season 8: Ariana Madix shares advice to contestants

In just a matter of days, we are going to have a chance to see the premiere of Love Island USA season 8 officially arrive. We imagine that the cast is going to hit the ground running from the premiere, and there will be a combination of romance, drama, and a whole lot more.
Are some contestants going to pop off the screen more than ever? That feels inevitable, largely due to the fact that this is a show about personalities as much as anything — we tend to think the islanders will be able to detect authenticity off each other, as will some viewers at home.

For this very reason, host Ariana Madix is doing her best to caution everyone in advance of the show to not try to put on some persona — just show who you really are. Here is the advice she’d give to any contestant, per a chat with People Magazine:
“It sounds cliché, but be yourself because being yourself is what made the people who make the show fall in love with you, and that’s what’s gonna make the audience fall in love with you … It’s what’s gonna make the Islander that you have a crush on fall in love with you. Being authentic and vulnerable and showing yourself is really the best thing you can do in that situation.”
We also tend to think that if people legitimately try to be themselves, it is going to be easier to open up and trust — especially since the latter may be the hardest part of doing a show like this. It goes without saying that everyone is interested in fame if they are signing up for Love Island but ideally, they want a serious relationship at the same time. The fear is obviously running into someone who is focused solely on the followers and not the actual premise of the show.
