Euphoria season 3 episode 8 (finale): Cliffhanger ahead?
This weekend on HBO you are going to have a chance to see Euphoria season 3 episode 8, and it is certainly fair to say the show is in an unusual spot.
After all, consider the following: The network has confirmed this is the season finale, and not necessarily the end of the series. If this was 100% the end of the show, don’t you think that they would have consulted with creator Sam Levinson about it? The specific labeling here does leave open the possibility that we are going to see some loose ends left intentionally after episode 8 wraps, just in case there are things the powers-that-be want to explore in a specific season 4.

Does this possibility leave open the idea of a cliffhanger? You cannot rule anything out entirely, mostly because of two different factors.
1. This is a show that does try to constantly shock you, whether it be with its content or some of its twists. Some out there may still be reeling from Nate’s death! Just considering that alone, nothing would be more shocking than delivering something as messy as possible in the final moments.
2. Also, you can consider a Euphoria cliffhanger Levinson almost intentionally leaning against expectations. He likely knows that most would expect this to be the final season at this point, especially with how big many of the show’s stars have become. While we have no real idea what a season 4 would even look like at this point, there is no denying that the appeal of something like this could be tantalizing for those on the network side.
In the end…
We still lean toward the idea of a cliffhanger here as unlikely, mostly because that is not something Euphoria has really leaned that hard into in the past. Also, a possible season 4 would likely be years away, and that is a really long time for people to wait for resolution.
