Sheriff Country season 2 premiere date hopes over at CBS

Given that tonight serves as the big finale for Sheriff Country season 1 over at CBS, what better time is there to get into season 2?

The first thing that is clearly worth noting is that you don’t have to worry at all about the future — the Morena Baccarin drama has already been greenlit for more! With that, we mostly just have to sit back and think about when it will be back and beyond that, what the stories are going to be.

Thanks to the network’s fall-schedule release last month, we know that Sheriff Country is going to be back on Friday nights once more and with that, you don’t have to be too concerned with it getting off to a strong start. Odds are, it will return in either late September or October, and an exact start date will be highlighted at some point in June or July. That’s something that CBS likes to get out there far in advance so that it can be properly promoted.

If there is any other thing worth noting…

For now, we do think that it will be interesting if the potential medical spin-off happens, especially since a backdoor pilot would be included in Sheriff Country at some point. While there is a reason to think this could be successful, you also do have to remember the following: CBS has had some challenges getting big medical shows to a spot where they are big hits. Take a look at Watson, which was just canceled despite having some Sherlock IP. We do not expect them to rush anything along with this show, but you should at least be aware of its existence here pretty far in advance.
