CIA season 2 episode count, more characters ahead

We have now officially made it past the CIA season 1 finale on CBS, so what better time is there to get into the overall future?
Obviously, the first thing that we can celebrate here is the fact that another chapter has already been greenlit at the network, so you do not have to worry about that. Beyond that, though, we are going to get many more episodes this time around than we did with season 1!

Speaking on this subject further in a new interview with TV Insider, executive producer Mike Weiss had the following to say:
We want to expand the world of the CIA. We only made 12 episodes in Season 1. We’re going to be making 22 episodes in Season 2 and there are a lot of desks and experts and analysts and intelligence officers that work in the building that we haven’t introduced you to yet. And we’d love to keep building out the world of the show as we move forward.
We certainly want to celebrate the 22-episode order for this show for a number of different reasons, but the biggest may just be the simple fact that this is an extremely rare thing to get within the modern era of TV. Our hope is that this will allow for some new tests and trials for Bill and Colin, but also a number of other new characters at the same exact time.
Fingers crossed now that over the course of the summer, there will be some other insight on what is to come — and we are rather eager to get into that and a whole lot more.
