CIA season 2 premiere date hopes over at CBS

With tonight serving as the CIA season 1 finale at CBS, isn’t this the perfect time to talk further about season 2? We tend to think so!

As a starting off point, let’s just issue a reminder here that the series starring Nick Gehlfuss and Tom Ellis is officially coming back for another chapter. That news has been out there for a little while, and it is our feeling that more viewers could flock to the show over the summer. After all, the first season is short enough that it may not feel like some insane chore to get more people locked in.

Now when it comes to when CIA will actually return to the network, CBS has already confirmed that will air this fall on Monday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. That means we don’t have to endure some insanely-long break between seasons, and we certainly hope that there will be an official date revealed over the next couple of months. The easy assumption to make right now is that it will return either in late September or early October.

As for what some of the stories ahead are going to be…

Well, let’s just start off by noting that Bill and Colin’s dynamic should always be front and center, and we hope that the writers focus mostly on international intrigue and geopolitics more than standard action-heavy cases. That is what the flagship FBI is for, and there is a chance to do something a little different here. (Sure, there can still be action, but you want it to stand out.)

Meanwhile, we do imagine that there is a chance for a few crossovers here and there — we would welcome a larger event, at least so long as there is a story where it makes total sense.

What do you most want to see moving into CIA season 2 when it premieres on CBS?
