Bad Monkey season 2 premiere date: A May 2026 update

As we start to approach the summer of 2026, is more news on Bad Monkey season 2 on the horizon?

We should begin this piece by noting that if you are getting a little impatient about the future of the Apple TV show, we more than understand. It has been more than a year and a half since the first season premiered and ever since filming wrapped, there has not exactly been a ton of news out there about the future.

So is there any chance that this could change soon? Maybe, but we would not say to get your hopes up just yet. While Apple has yet to announce a premiere-date window for the Vince Vaughn mystery show, our sentiment is that it could come out over the fall. They have another Bill Lawrence produced show in the meantime in Ted Lasso, so they may not see much of a reason to rush anything along. We tend to think an exact Bad Monkey return date will arrive over the summer.

For those who are currently aware…

The second season is not going to be based on the Carl Hiaasen novel Razor Girl, but rather an original story. That does not mean that the producers are steering clear of an adaptation altogether; the idea is to make this a show that lasts for multiple seasons. With that in mind, this is always an idea that could be revisited — even if it does mean that we have to wait for some time in order to see it. (Of course, a season 3 is also going to be heavily dependent on what the viewership will be for season 2 — we want to be as optimistic as we can about that.)
