Is The Hunting Party new tonight on NBC? We do not think that it will come as much of a surprise that there would be an interest in more of the show. After all, last week’s installment contained quite a few flourishes, with the biggest coming in the closing minutes. We already knew that the Pit housed killers … but they are also creating new ones? Chilling.

Unfortunately, this is where we do get to the unfortunate part of this piece, one where we have to admit that the future for the Melissa Roxburgh drama is far from set in stone.

First and foremost, we should note that there is no new episode tonight, and there may not ever be a new one again. Last week marked the season 2 finale and based on where things stand at present, there is no guaranteed third season coming.

However, are there still reasons for hope? Well if so, they are tied to the fact that The Hunting Party performed well on streaming. A return to NBC for season 3 feels unlikely based on its ratings there, but a possible Peacock move makes a decent amount of sense. We suppose that even moving the show to Netflix is a possibility, given that season 1 made its way into the top ten on the service. You can consider it a longshot for now, but it is hard to rule it out altogether.

If you do want to see a season 3 happen, the biggest thing we can tell you is to get your friends and/or anyone you know to stream the first two seasons. That could incentivize the powers-that-be to try and get something done and one way or another, we’re sure that the future here will be solidified over the next month and a half.
