Bridgerton season 5 premiere date: Netflix confirms 2027 launch

After becoming extremely used to Netflix making us wait for a really long time to see new Bridgerton seasons, we have big news to report today!
While at the streaming service’s upfront presentation, it was confirmed that season 5 of the costume drama, one meant to spotlight Francesca front and center, is going to launch at some point next year. This is the first time that we have had a chance to see installments of the series back to back and of course, there is something rather exciting about that. It means continuity and beyond that, hopefully a chance to really carry over viewership.

If you have not heard too much about season 5 beyond the Francesca spotlight, the official logline sets the stage:
The fifth season of Bridgerton spotlights introverted middle daughter Francesca (Hannah Dodd). Two years after losing her beloved husband John, Fran decides to reenter the marriage mart for practical reasons. But when John’s cousin Michaela (Masali Baduza) returns to London to tend to the Kilmartin estate, Fran’s complicated feelings will have her questioning whether to stick to her pragmatic intentions or pursue her inner passions.
Ultimately, we do imagine that some past leads could show up here and there, but every season of this show does have a symbolic passing of the torch involved. Why would this be any different at this point? Our feeling is that season 6 is likely going to be Eloise and with the show already renewed for that, it is nice to not have to worry about it. Instead, we can simply sit back and enjoy what the powers-that-be are throwing at us from here.
