Severance season 3 premiere date: A May 2026 update
Is there a chance we are going to learn more about Severance season 3 between now and the end of May? At this point, we do not blame anyone for getting antsy. Well over a year has passed now since the end of season 2 and yet, there is still not much official out there regarding the future.
Has the story been mapped out? It certainly feels that way, and we do think some announcements are poised to come out in the months ahead. Whether or not they are tied to a return date, however, very much remains to be seen.

What we can say for now is ultimately not too complicated at all: We would be shocked if there is anything about a season 3 launch revealed for the rest of the year, mostly because production is going to take some time. Even when it is done you have post-production and from then, everything else Apple will be doing to promote and prepare the series.
Our general feeling remains similar to what it has been in the past several months: We would feel lucky to have an official premiere date for Severance season 3 a year from now. There is almost no evidence for the streaming service to rush things along, and nor do we think that they will. Instead, their priority is more than likely going to be just doing whatever is in their power to make sure that the next chapter lives up to what are honestly some pretty astronomical expectations. The season 2 finale raised a number of questions, but the biggest one to us is if Lumon is ever going to allow Mark to leave those company walls again. Do they have any reason to do so?
