For those unaware, Chicago Fire season 14 episode 21 is coming to NBC next week, and we are poised for the all-important finale. Are you ready for some great, super-emotional content?

First and foremost, we should note that this story is titled “Thank You” and with that, we have questions aplenty. What in the world does that mean, and is it a reference to any one thing in particular? We do tend to know that multiple characters across the board could have some rather big updates take place in regards to their lives.

05/13/2026 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Wednesday) : Severide and Kidd welcome a surprise visitor. Herrmann and Cindy renew their vows. Mouch receives some encouraging news. TV-14

When thinking about a possible cliffhanger at the end of all this, we tend to believe there is one news item to remember in particular: This is going to be Andrea Newman’s final episode as showrunner. Will she want to tie up loose ends so the new showrunner can start from a stable position? Or, do you just decide to go in the most chaotic direction imaginable, one where lives are on the line and the premiere will give answers? We do think that in their own way, either ending works, mostly because viewers at this point have been around the show long enough to stay tuned regardless of if a cliffhanger happens or not.

To us, the most important thing is to give Severide at least some sort of a win — hasn’t the guy gone through it over the past few weeks as it is?
